  • Riverdale Park: A 144 acre oasis on the Hudson
Riverdale Park is a little known park that begins around Palisades Avenue and W232nd Street and spans northward along the Hudson River to the Riverdale metro north station at west 256th Street. It’s known for its secluded beauty, thick woods, walking paths, and spectacular views of the Palisades along the Hudson River. While walking the trails, if you’re an avid bird watcher pay attention because it is also home to 27 species of different birds including the screech owl. Fun fact about Riverdale: The bedrock of Riverdale is billion-year-old Fordham gneiss, the oldest rock formation in New York City. Now go out there and get hiking!
